Je hoeft daarom geen traditionele Arabische of islamitische kleding te dragen, maar zorg <strong>vooral dat het niet aanstootgevend<\/strong> is. Probeer daarom je benen, armen en borst zoveel mogelijk te bedekken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar wat moet je dan inpakken voor Marokko? Het is een van de meest fotogenieke plekken waar we ooit zijn geweest. De kleuren, het licht, het landschap, de soeks, de katten, de mensen, &#8230; we vonden het geweldig!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar je moet je ervan bewust zijn dat <strong>Marokkanen het niet leuk vinden als mensen willekeurig foto&#8217;s van hen maken<\/strong> (vanwege hun islamitische overtuiging). Dus vraag voordat je die foto maakt <strong>vriendelijk om toestemming.<\/strong> Sommigen vragen misschien ook om wat geld, in welk geval je ze 5-10 dirhams kunt geven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hou er ook rekening mee dat het <strong>sterk wordt afgeraden om foto&#8217;s te maken van overheidsgebouwen of militair personeel in Marokko<\/strong>. Maar soms kan het wel een beetje intimiderend overkomen. Niet alleen zijn de steden (en het verkeer) erg druk, <strong>sommige mensen zijn misschien een beetje opdringerig om dingen te verkopen of om geld aan je te verdienen.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar <strong>laat deze mensen je vakantie zeker niet naar de vaantjes helpen.<\/strong> Je wordt misschien wel opgelicht en betaalt in bepaalde situaties te veel, gewoon omdat je toerist bent. Maar meestal gaat het hier om kleine bedragen. Locals zien je proberen te beslissen waar je heen gaat (of benaderen je zelfs gewoon zonder reden), komen naar je toe om je te helpen, je de weg te wijzen en daarna om geld te vragen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weiger beleefd hun hulp en negeer ze, zelfs als ze je blijven vragen of volgen. Vermijd oogcontact en vertel vooral niet waar je vandaan komt. Ze zullen je geen kwaad doen en laten je na een tijdje met rust. Maar het is wel vervelend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>TIP:<\/strong> ben je even de weg kwijt? Vraag het dan aan iemand die in een restaurant werkt of een winkeltje heeft. Vraag het aan niemand die ook op straat loopt. Doe je dat toch, kom dan een prijs overeen vooraleer hulp te aanvaarden.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"wees_er_op_voorbereid_om_te_onderhandelen\"><\/span>Wees er op voorbereid om te onderhandelen.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Je zal sowieso in de verleiding komen om te gaan winkelen. In de soeks (Marokkaanse markten) vind je de meest verbazingwekkende producten zoals leren artikelen, aardewerk, tapijten, kruiden en nog veel meer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normaal gesproken kopen we nooit veel souvenirs als we op reis zijn, maar in Marokko moesten we een extra koffer kopen om naar huis te gaan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Als je iets wilt kopen, wees dan bereid om te onderhandelen.<\/strong> Meestal kun je beginnen met 1\/3 van de prijs die ze vragen (of misschien iets hoger) en eindigen met de helft van de prijs. Geef het afdingen niet te snel op en blijf altijd vriendelijk en glimlach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ze bieden je meestal ook thee aan. Je vermijdt dus best<strong> om kraanwater te moeten drinken<\/strong>, zelfs niet als je je tanden poetst. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drink altijd flessenwater en als je een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?k=reusable+water+bottle&amp;crid=2CY9TCIS4TIBA&amp;sprefix=reusable+water+bottle%2Caps%2C312&amp;linkCode=ll2&amp;tag=theglobalwi03-20&amp;linkId=528694e3518e43fdc816c46efb358be7&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">hervulbare waterfles<\/a> meeneemt (zoals we altijd doen), vul deze dan niet met kraanwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"plan_niet_te_veel_op_vrijdag\"><\/span>Plan niet te veel op vrijdag<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Vrijdag is een heilige dag voor moslims, <strong>dus veel winkels en restaurants zijn dan gesloten.<\/strong> Soms gaan ze &#8217;s avonds weer open (na het gebed). Hou hier rekening mee bij het plannen van je reis. Probeer een bezoek aan een medina niet op vrijdag in te plannen, want dan kun je de sfeer niet echt 100% ervaren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Check ook de islamitische feestdagen voordat je vertrekt.<\/strong> De meeste plaatsen zullen ook op die feestdagen gesloten zijn. Het is moeilijk onderhandelen als je alles al gegeten of gedronken hebt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hebben bijvoorbeeld ergens muntthee en sinaasappelsap besteld zonder de menukaart op voorhand te bekijken. Nadat we die gekregen hadden vroeg die kerel maar liefst 3x de normale prijs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daarom, als je naar een restaurant gaat en ze geven je <strong>een menu zonder enige prijs<\/strong> erop, <strong>vraag dan zeker hoeveel alles kost en spreek de prijs af.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hetzelfde voor de taxi chauffeurs, of wanneer mensen in de straat je willen helpen. Spreek dus altijd op voorhand een prijs af voordat er iets fout gaat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"wees_niet_bang_om_verloren_te_lopen\"><\/span>Wees niet bang om verloren te lopen.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wanneer je in de medina van Fez, Marrakech of welke andere stad dan ook wandelt, verdwaal je in het labyrint van kleine straatjes en steegjes. Zelfs Google Maps is soms even de weg kwijt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar panikeer niet, het hoort er nu eenmaal bij. Dwaal rond in de souks, verdwaal en uiteindelijk vind je de weg terug (of vraag het aan een local en betaal dan toch maar die kleine vergoeding). Afhankelijk van het seizoen en de plaats waar je naartoe reist, kan <strong>het koud zijn in Marokko.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In het voor- en najaar zijn de temperaturen zeer aangenaam, maar het kan &#8217;s avonds kouder worden, vooral in de bergen en de woestijn. We hadden af en toe regen en koude dagen in de woestijn in september.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In de zomer is het bijna overal warm, maar in de bergen heb je toch een trui nodig. In de winter moet je dus echt een (regen)jas \u200b\u200bof jas en een warme trui meenemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"pas_op_voor_dierenmishandeling\"><\/span>Pas op voor dierenmishandeling<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Marokkanen houden van hun katten maar ook van ooievaars. Je zal versteld staan van de pracht van het land!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je vraagt \u200b\u200bzich waarschijnlijk af of <strong>het veilig is om in Marokko te rijden<\/strong>. En dat is het wel volgens ons. Hou wel altijd een goed oog op de weg, overstekende kinderen of geiten zijn niet zo ongewoon.  Wil je een auto huren? Bovendien is het niet duur en dus de perfecte verfrissing op een warme dag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wees niet bang om ze te bestellen bij een van de straatverkopers! Ze persen ze vers terwijl je erbij staat. Op het Djemaa el Fna plein in Marrakesh staan \u200b\u200bheel wat kraampjes waar je allerlei smaken kunt kopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"niet-moslims_mogen_meestal_geen_moskee_binnen\"><\/span>Niet-moslims mogen (meestal) geen moskee binnen <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Moskee\u00ebn zijn meestal prachtig versierd en geweldig om te bezoeken. Helaas mag je <strong>als niet-moslim geen moskee binnen.<\/strong> Je kunt echter nog steeds enkele van de fantastische architectuur en decoraties van buitenaf zien. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De <strong>enige uitzondering is de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lonelyplanet.com\/morocco\/casablanca\/attractions\/hassan-ii-mosque\/a\/poi-sig\/1379578\/1331580\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hassan II-moskee in Casablanca,<\/a><\/strong> de 5e grootste moskee ter wereld. Check vooraf welke geldautomaten de laagste commissie vragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geld wisselen kan je op de meeste plaatsen in Marokko. De meeste banken bieden diensten aan tegen concurrerende tarieven, wat veel handiger is dan het zoeken naar kleine wisselbureaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Marrakech of andere zeer toeristische gebieden is het ook mogelijk om in Euro&#8217;s of dollars te betalen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>TIP:<\/strong> In Marokko hoef je niet overal een fooi te geven zoals in de USA. Een fooi geven wordt niet verwacht Maar als je echt van de service geniet, zullen ze het zeker waarderen als je 10 of 20 dirham extra overlaat.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"het_is_gemakkelijk_om_met_de_bus_of_trein_door_marokko_te_reizen\"><\/span>Het is gemakkelijk om met de bus of trein door Marokko te reizen<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Als je geen budget hebt om een \u200b\u200bauto te huren of gewoon geen zin hebt om in Marokko te rijden, dan is het heel <strong>gemakkelijk om je te verplaatsen met het openbaar vervoer.<\/strong> In ieder geval in de meer bezochte en dichtbevolkte gebieden. In de afgelegen gebieden zal dit iets moeilijker zijn. Breng dus zeker wat extra cash mee om jouw tickets te kopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Treinen in Marokko zijn z\u00e9\u00e9r goedkoop en betrouwbaar. Het enige nadeel is dat ze wat traag kunnen zijn (behalve de hogesnelheidstreinen tussen Rabat, Tanger en Casablanca).
